We were contacted by Bigjigs Toys who asked us if we would like to work with them and feature their gorgeous toys on our blog and Instagram page in return for a gifted toy for Adalena.

One thing I love about wooden toys is their durability and longevity, even Darian, who is 8, will have a go with them alongside Adalena, which is lovely to see.
I also love the educational value that wooden toys bring, they are tactile, which is great for sensory play, and they look very realistic, usually more so than plastic toys, which is great for aiding role play.
The fact that they are completely open ended and can be used in lots of different ways, is great for developing imagination and creativity in little ones, aswell as helping with their speech and language development.
When adults or older children name items and describe what they are doing as they play along, little ones tend to pick up the vocabulary and begin to learn and copy words and sounds.
