The Milky Tee Co. Slogan Breastfeeding T-Shirt Review.

I was thrilled to receive this ‘Mutha’ breastfeeding tee in black from The Milky Tee Co.

It arrived in a matching black and gold polka dot postal bag, which I felt was a nice touch, and beautifully wrapped in pink tissue paper, sealed with a milkyteeco. sticker.

Enclosed within the tissue paper, alongside the tee was a milkyteeco. postcard, thanking the customer for their purchase and encouraging them to post a photo of their purchase on social media, there is also a useful instruction to not iron the print on the front of the tee, to protect it from damage and ensure it’s longevity.

The tee itself is true to size, I recieved a size Medium, which according to their size guide is a UK 12-14. Since having my baby, I’m somewhere in no man’s land between a 12 and a 14 – I will get back to being a solid 12..one day…

The tee fits very comfortably, and the length, for me, is perfect. Being 5’7, I can sometimes find tops a little too short for me and my mum tum! The milkyteeco. tee takes this worry away and the tee sits nicely over my hips and tummy making me feel alot more confident in the way I look.

The gold slogan stands out beautifully on the brillant black tee and is funky and individual, I’ve seen plenty of ‘mama/mummy’ slogan tops but I think this ‘mutha’ slogan is cool and edgy, a far cry from my usual stripey maternity & nursing tops that the high street shops like to churn out…and whilst they do the job, they are quite boring – even my lovely fiance likes to comment that I’m sporting my ‘Where’s Wally?’ look when I am wearing them!

This design feels fresh and unique and definitely instamum ready!

Now, let’s get onto the function of the tee as a breastfeeding top. Cleverly hidden and hardly noticeable, there are zips that run from the underarm, to half way down the torso on both sides. These clever little zips allow you to simply ‘unzip the nip’ as much or as little as you need, to easily and discreetly breastfeed your little one, whether at home or out and about – this can be done with one hand, allowing you to hold your baby at the same time. There’s nothing worse than faffing with awkward clothing whilst trying to hold your wriggly baby in the middle of a coffee shop!

I found having the zips super convenient for discreet feeding and they take away the need to wear layers of tops for ‘one up, one down’ breastfeeding access, and of course means I can ditch those mundane stripey nursing tops – hooray!

The milkyteeco. tee feels wonderfully soft and well made. The 100% combed cotton fabric is amazing quality and is OEKO-TEX® certified, which means it does not contain any harmful or irritating substances, so its perfect even for very sensitive skin. A must when your baby’s skin comes into contact with your clothes so often.

I’ve bought breastfeeding clothes from smaller companies in the past and often been disappointed in the overall quality – not this time!

The tee is machine washable at 30 degrees and can be ironed, avoiding the print on the front.

Overall, this is a great investment for your breastfeeding wardrobe, it is practical, stylish and offers easy and discreet access for breastfeeding.

At £29.99, this really is a steal, as it is so versatile, it can be worn all year round, in spring/summer with shorts and sandals and in autumn/winter with jeans, boots and a cardigan. Because of the clever, discreet design, you can even continue to wear it long after your breastfeeding journey has come to an end.
